5/22 - Rhet's River Grill Review, Tuesday

For breakfast Tuesday, I had a boiled egg and some mixed fruit for 2pt+ at work. The days just keep getting longer!!!

I ran home for lunch and made a fold-it with chicken salad on top. Delicious! 8pts+

I stayed at work until close to 8:00 when I decided to pack up and head home. I am so stressed with everything going on at work -hiring, recruiting, employees leaving- we are in transition. Even though I got home so late, Matt and I stuck with our plan of having dinner together at Rhett's River Grill and Raw Bar. We first found this place when looking for where to find some good peel 'em and eat 'em shrimp.

Home boy loves his shrimp.

It doesn't look like much from the outside. It's in a strip mall north of town with the name in white block letters that say "I have no restaurant personality." I was dubious. What we found was a small, family owned restaurant with deliciously fresh seafood and friendly staff. The venue still throws me, there's so much potential but kind of a fail on the delivery.

Matt and I scored a deal on living social a few weeks ago and decided to get our sea food on. I got the Rhett's salad (small portion) with crab cake and a cup of She Crab soup. The crab cake was the best I have ever eaten. Perfectly tender with soft crab lumps throughout. The soup - a little on the salty side, but it didn't keep me from eating it. I will eat there again.

And get the same thing.

Because that is my M.O.

It was nice to get out and about on a Tuesday! I didn't count the points of dinner, but I'm pretty sure it was close to adding up to my daily total.

5/21 - Monday

Gracious, its only Tuesday? My brain feels like its Friday! I missed breakfast Monday because I had to hop right in to meetings at work. By lunch I was starved. I got to enjoy a nice break outside eating my 10pt+ salad. It had cranberries, mandrin oranges, walnuts, and goat cheese with raspberry vinaigrette.

It wasn't until after 7:30 when I headed home. I had a banana for 0pts+ to snack while we made dinner.

I had grilled shrimp on a flat out with a little fetta and light ranch for 6pts+ with falafel chips and humus for 4pts+ and artichoke 0pts+.

As a snack, I had gold fish for 3pts+.

Around 9:30, Matt and I took the pooch for ~ a 3mi walk for +2 activity points. I was glad to get moving and get my mind off work. Personal goal this week - work 8 hours or less at least one day this week. These 10+ hour days are killing my mojo and draining me. I volunteered to work late Monday, but Tuesday was out of control. More on that tomorrow!

Thursday, I had a boiled egg and fruit for breakfast for 2pts+.

 Coffee with cream 1pt+.
 Lentil Soup 7pt+

And for dinner, I had a burger with half a bun for 6pt+ and salad at my work's summer kick-off party. The event was fun and the weather was nice. I weighed in at 158.2 lbs at WW before going to the party. Glad I was down another few lbs! It was my first time at weight watchers to weigh in the 150's.

5/16 - Wednesday

I promised myself I would get off work early on Wednesday (by early, I mean an 8 hour day). My ability to leave the office on time has escaped me this past week. I've slipped back in to 10 hour days being the norm, and that's no good. Its not that I mind working late, I love my job; its just that I can hyper focus and be really perfectionist to where it is the only thing I do. I end up spending all the wonderful summer daylight at work and get off at night when I can't spend time outside.

For breakfast, I had the last banana for 0pts+

For lunch, I went to Which Which and got their black bean bowl which I LOVE. I got it with humus, olives, tomatoes, onions, and cucumbers. So filling for 7pts+.

One of the girls made short bread at work. I had two squares for 8pts+. Of course, I did not manage to get off early. I ended up leaving work around 7:15...old habits die hard.

I had artichoke 0pts+, buffalo shrimp 1pt+, and french fries 6pts+ with honey mustard 2pts+ for dinner. We watched Modern Family while eating and then enjoyed a long walk with the dog +2activity pts.

I had some cheese and falafel chips after for 2pts+.

5/15 - Tuesday

Tuesday was a long day at work for me. I will be glad when this week is o.v.e.r. I had fruit for breakfast for 0tps+. I bought fruit for a service dinner our work sponsored last week and wound up with wayyyy too much. My goal is to eat it all this week! The bananas were looking the worst so I am trying to make it through them first.

For lunch, I went to one of my favorite places in Charlottesville, Feast! They are  a local grocery, cafe and cheese shop that specializes in high quality local foods. Their mission is "to offer Feast! customers the best in service and quality. To be a vital and responsible business - independently owned and operated - that is a viable alternative to huge, corporate groceries and that develops the unique character and economic advantages that independently owned businesses offer to the community." As far as I'm concerned they've nailed it. Liz and I enjoyed our lunch outside the cafe on Main Street. I got half of a ham, goat cheese, and plum panini with a cup of sweet potato soup for 9pts+. It was a nice treat to get out and about mid-day.

After lunch, I called back some people who interviewed with us over the last few weeks to give them feedback. Unfortunately, we haven't found the right person yet, but I feel that when we do, it will have been well worth the wait.

I got off work around 8 and made it home for a late dinner with the hubby. I had some falafel chips and humus (only 2) while cooking for 1pt+.

Dinner was AH-mazing. I had baked fries 6pts+ with a sweet apple chicken sausage fold-it. YUM. Definitely going to make this again. On the fold-it was 2/3 of a sausage, 1tsp feta cheese, spring mix, apples, and balsamic for 5pts+. I also had a few bites of the apple 0pts+ and honey mustard 2pts+

5/14 - Monday

A little late on this post. I've been sick all weekend and into this week. :( I had grand plans to start working out again this week- so far, they've just remained plans while I've been sneezing my brains out. I can't wait to be well!

I had fruit 0pts+ for breakfast- strawberries, raspberries, and blueberries. I kind of love the free fruit on points plus, but it does scare me to use it. I feel like having something for breakfast is better than nothing though!

Salmon salad with spring mix and tomatoes for lunch for 6pts+. Being sick at work is pretty miserable. Its a pretty minor cold, but its the pits.

I got home around 7 and had a few falafel chips (2) with salsa as a snack 1pt+ and a banana 0pt+.

For dinner, Matt and I had baked cajun drumsticks (skin on) with green beans, peppers and onion, and some buttered french bread for 10pts+. I didn't eat one of the chicken legs.

We watched Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy after dinner. I really enjoyed the movie, but it was hard to follow at the beginning. I really want to read the book now.

While watching the movie, I noshed on some more bread with butter 3pts+. So delicious! I am a carbaholic - bad kid.

I had some humus and falafel chips later for 4pts+ too.
Tracked all my eats!
