8/27 - Weird Breakfasts

This weekend, I spent some time out of the house finally. After being in prison bed all week, it was a huge treat to get out.

Pimento cheese dip from Brixx
I enjoyed dinner out with Liz and Matt Friday night at Brixx. Their chicken tortilla soup - not my favorite, but I figured it was better than getting pizza!

I also realized I needed to go grocery shopping when I woke up Friday to no eggs and had to make a peanut butter and jelly wrap for breakfast...not recommended.

Also not recommended as a breakfast food - garlic potatoes and green beans...I had that Saturday.

I started working with a teen pregnancy mentorship group a few months ago and we had our meeting Saturday morning early. I had to eat something before spending a few hours talking!

Afterward, I went shopping and got this shirt!

Which I wore to a dinner date with some friends to Beer Run. Love that place.
Veggies and Rice from Beer Run
Dinner was followed by a little bit o beer pong at the house before bed. Bad kids. I had to hit the hay before everyone else because Sunday, we had planned a tubing trip down the James River.
My fancy ear plugs
Breakfast Sunday wasn't much improved from the previous two days...
Sunday breakfast
But it was yummy. We tubed all day and found a bunch of abandoned coolers on one of the beaches. We are gypsies so we collected the coolers, cleaned up the college kids' beer cans from the beach, and made out with a lot of abandoned shoes...its a little shady, but my feet are ok with it.

We ended Sunday with an episode of 24 and bedtime!

Good News

Despite having no time yesterday for my WW meeting, I still rushed over and weighed in.

Yesterday was the first day I've felt even close to well in the the last week and a half. I've had really bad ear infections, sinus junk, and have felt pretty crummy. BUT since I was much improved and missed WW last week for a doctor's appt, I went and weighed....

I was down 2.8 lbs! For my all time low weight watchers weigh in at 153.8 lbs!!!! I'm sure I can't take all the credit because I was sick in bed for two days of that, but I did work my butt off until I got sick. Hopefully, I can keep on this track and continue to make progress. I'm not cleared to exercise until I get off these two really strong antibiotics and other meds for risk of tendon problems, but I'll be hitting the road soon. I have had an unspoken goal of making it into the 140's by my 25th birthday, October 6.

Also- I'm looking for a 5-6 ish mile race to run in the next few months. Any suggestions??

8/24 - Where have you been?

SICK! Really sick! Miss work and lay in bed wishing the world would not exist sick! Ginger ale and saltine sick. Blegh.

Buuuut, before that week and a half....Matt and I were getting a roommate! Megan, one of our friends, had a lease end and isn't moving to nova until Nov-Dec so she moved into our guest room!
Jimmy John's Turkey Tom
That took a lot of shuffling stuff, putting things into storage, and getting into a new routine, but all is well at the Bauer House!
Coffee at Beer Run during Saturday breakfast tacos!
I got back into a pretty good cooking/eating at home routine. Since I work with Megan and we often ride together, I have been carpooling back home to make lunch and snacks.
Chicken Taco Soup
I've been trying to fit in more veggies day to day. Before I was sick, I was also getting out and exercising at least every other day!

Eating breakfast daily!

Celebrating my mom's birthday and award of "Lasallian Educator of the Year!" My mom is AH-Mazing.

Buying blackout curtains for my room and hanging the map we got in Iceland.

New pets for work! African water frogs.

Cooking TONS of this! Its 8 pt+ according to the website.

ALL THAT TO SAY....Even though I haven't been here, I have been maintaining healthy habits and making progress toward my goals. This blog has always been a tool in that process, but the blog itself morphed into a goal...posting every day. Wanting so badly to be a contributor to the healthy living community on a regular basis - to be a role model for those in my life seeking healthier paths. A lot of times lately, I've felt like I'm failing because I'm not consistently posting or not consistently taking pictures...but when I look at how much my life has changed over the past two years, I can 100% say that I am a happier healthier person who is able to maintain this lifestyle.

Introspection. Good stuff.

8/7 - Cupcakes Aren't Diet Food...FYI

Since my weight loss for this week is probably definitely in the crapper considering the weekend I had, I made this week's goal to eat a protein rich breakfast every morning even if I didn't want to. That generally starts me off on a good foot for the day.

I had a hard boiled egg for breakfast for 2pts+.

Megan was so sweet and bought me a Kombucha for a mid-morning pick-me-up. It was great.

I forgot my salad dressing for the salad I made for lunch so I went home and baked fries for 6pts+. One of the benefits of living in a small city is that you can pop home for your lunch hour and not waste half of it in traffic. I cleaned the kitchen and got bleach on my favorite dress while I was home. :(

For dinner, Matt grilled pork tenderloin and corn, and we had falafel chips and humus as well for 12pts+.

I also had 1 1/2 cupcakes for 6pts+ while watching the Olympics. They tasted soooo good, but I regretted making them. The rest are going to work tomorrow!

8/6 - Keep on Keepin' On

I was a bad kid over the weekend and ate all kinds of non-diet like foods. It was nice, but short lived as usual. I hopped back on track Monday, which was hard because I wasn't feeling well and didn't really want to, but in the long run, that's how you make progress - just keep on keepin' on. Yesterday, I had two servings of sesame chicken quinoa for 18pts+ with some gatorade for 2pts+.

I didn't get pictures, so here's one from the weekend.

8/2 - Weigh In

No post, but that doesn't mean I'm not working toward my goals - just means I've been busy doing that and not at a computer. I went running Wednesday, and went for a few mile walk before work Thursday. Feeling pretty good about things!

I weighed in yesterday 2.4 lbs down from two weeks ago. I'm at 154.8 lbs now. All time low for WW weigh ins. Gotta keep going!
