Wednesday

I skipped breakfast since I didn't get out of bed until close to 9am! I need to get better about breakfast. Any suggestions? I tend not to give myself time in the morning to prepare anything, and when I do, I dawdle around and get into work later. I like getting into work before 8 everyday.

For lunch,  Liz and had a salad from Cobb's with Ranch on the side for 6pt. I also stole a few of her fries for 4pts+!! Side note - has anyone ever tried fries as a salad topping? Megan shared this disaster tip with me a few weeks ago and I love it!

For dinner, I got home around 7:00 and ran to guad to scarf down some food with Matt before meeting an old friend to catch up over some coffee at 7:30. I had 6pt+ of chips and salsa (WW online says 4, but it seems like it should have been a lot more) with chicken tortilla soup 8pts+ with avocado 2pt+.

Guess what that means...I stayed within my points range yesterday! For the first time in FOR.E.VER.

Total 26/26

Tuesday

Tuesday morning, I was at work by 7:30 and didn't find a break until ~10 to grab breakfast after going on Rick and Jane's radio show! I had a 3pts+ breakfast of kombucha, carrots, celery, humus, and a little pita.

For lunch, I had a few pringles 1pt+ and some french fries for 6pts+ with some peanut butter on celery for 2pts+. Oof - a lot of food for lunch.

I worked a community outreach event I had been planning from 5:30-8 at night so I didn't get home until close to 8:30. I was exhausted and ready to eat and wind down.

For dinner, I had pasta with broccoli, light butter, and Parmesan cheese for 10pts+. Matt, Megan, Chris and I had a few beers for 15pt+.

The Bud Light box Chris picked up was taped shut. When
we opened it, there was Bud Heavy in it! Shady. Needless to
say, it got returned and there was much rejoicing.
Total: 37/26, overage of 11pt+.

So - how am I doing? I haven't been to a weight watchers meeting in over a month since I've been sick and inconsistently in town, but realize I need to attend regularly for success. I've started tracking (albeit poorly) this week. I had a dr's visit earlier this week and weighed 159.0 lbs. So I know I'm up from the last time I was at WW. That's where things stand now!

Monday

Monday wasn't as horrible as I thought it was food wise. I had a 2pt+ amazeball from Java Dragon made of flax, agave, and coconut oil. There wasn't a ton of flavor, but it helped keep me going until lunch. I picked it up during a work errand with some iced coffee.

I had 6pt+ of baked french fries for lunch.

For dinner, I was really rushed so I grabbed Wendy's for Matt and I. I had a Spicy Chicken fillet sandwich for 14pt. We had friends over for board games afterward and I had 1/2 a burnt cookie for 2pts and a ton of cheddar popcorn 7pts+ yeah, that's like 3 cups...

Total 31/26 pt+ for an overage of 5 pts. Its not good, but not terrible for getting back in the swing of tracking!

PS - If you happen to be in Charlottesville today and looking for something to do with your kids, swing by our BRAIN OLYMPICS game night co-hosted by Cville's Hobbies, Games, and Toys! Rick and Jane Foy had me on their radio show this morning to talk about it!

Wonderful Weekend

I got to spend my weekend with this lovely lady.
Jamie and I being silly with the camera
My big sister! She came in town for the weekend and we went on a camping canoeing trip for the weekend.

Megan and I
It was perfect weather and company!

My eats were sub par - typical camp food. Chips, bratwurst, beer, smores, etc.

Thursday

Thursday was one disaster after another. It started with a non existent alarm and waking up 10 minutes before a 7:30 am appointment at work. myhairlookedawesome. (fail #1)

Continued with me hitting a parked car at work (fail #2)

Forgetting I registered for a yoga class over my lunch break until 15 minutes before the class started (fail #3)

Driving to the WRONG yoga studio for said yoga class (fail #4)

Forgetting to tell Matt we RSVPed for a fundraising banquet for YoungLives that night (fail #5)

Getting off work 15 minutes before I had to be at said fundraising banquet...with my aforementioned fabulous hair (fail #6)

Anyway, despite all of that, it wasn't a horrible day. Just a roller coaster of altered expectations. I had carrots and celery for breakfast with humus 2pts+, two qdoba tacos for lunch 11pts+, and salad, veggies, 1/2 a chicken cordon bleu, and dessert for dinner for ~15pts+.

Tuesday/Wednesday

I wish I didn't want to tell you about my day today (Thursday)....because then I wouldn't feel the need to fill in the gap disaster between my post Monday and tomorrow's post.

Tuesday started off well.
Tuesday morning- happy and healthy
 Good breakfast (4pts+)
Had my protein rich breakfast - 2 eggs, 3 for hubby
Good lunch (5pts+)
Did not eat the falafel chips and guacamole
Decent after work snack (2pts+)
cabbage
And then this train derailed and hasn't gotten back on track yet! I had 2 small pieces of pizza for dinner from mellow. Did you know a small piece of funky q pizza is 11pts+? I had two. There is a points plus price break somewhere around the 1.5 slice mark and you can get two pieces for 21pts+. I know...quite a deal. I washed it down with a few beers from their pint night 12pts+ and a jello shot 2pts+. Who sells jello shots anymore? More importantly who buys jello shots anymore??? Obviously this kid. After that, there was much singing and dancing - go figure.

7 am Wednesday rolled around way too early and way too blurry. I had a few meetings and was ready for food by lunch time. I skipped the soup I brought for lunch in favor of something more substantial and got a chicken sandwich and fries for 18pts+. For dinner, we had friends over and made spaghetti and rolls for our friends, Cathy and Greg for 14pts+. We are taking weekly bridge lessons from them. Yes, Matt and I are taking bridge lessons. My friends tell me I am an 80 year old residing in a 25 year old body. I am ok with this.

I put my old soul to bed at the late hour of 10:45.

Simple Oriental Cabbage

Literally, all I want to do is eat this recipe everyday for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. It is addictive. It makes two servings and is 3pts+ per serving and 120 calories. If you don't count the cabbage and 0 pt veggies in the total, its only 2pts+ per serving. Up to you.
Not a great picture, I'll change it when I get a better one!
Seriously, it tastes waaay better than it looks!
Ingredients:
1/2 head cabbage, chopped into ribbons
1/2 bulb leek, chopped into ribbons
3-4 green onions, chopped
5-6 watered chestnuts, chopped
1/2 Tbsp light butter
1/4 c. soy sauce
2 Tbsp oyster sauce

Directions:
  1. Saute cabbage, leek, green onions, and chestnuts in butter for 5-6 minutes until al dente
  2. Add soy sauce and oyster sauce
  3. Enjoy!

My husband even likes this stuff and he is not a vegetable lover (unless disguised with globs of cheese).

9/17 - Monday

Getting over colds are never fun, but I'm on the upswing from a 3 week one. I started tracking again Sunday and am planning on staying on track all week. I had 1/3 cup cottage cheese and a banana for breakfast for 2pts+.

Santa Fe Chicken Salad for lunch for 6pts+.

Kombucha after a Whole Foods run is helping me recover from the heavy antibiotics I've been on! 2pts+

I had Simple Oriental Cabbage Slaw 3pts+, with corn, and shrimp for a total for 6pts+ for dinner.

For a snack later, I had spicy falafel chips with guacamole dip for 2pts+!

Also- I chopped off all my hair!

Total: 18/26 pt+
